Missouri has its own probate procedures

A Texas proceeding and a Missouri probate proceeding are not interchangeable. The place of death, domicile, property location, estate documents, and nature of assets all matter to venue and procedure.

Small estates may qualify for an affidavit

Missouri Revised Statutes § 473.097 permits an affidavit-based procedure for certain estates of $40,000 or less in net value, subject to conditions. It is not a universal shortcut, and court-specific forms or publication steps may apply.

Real property warrants separate title review

A home or parcel of land can require particular probate, recording, or title documentation. The treatment of Missouri property differs from Texas real-property procedures.

Plan before making a filing

A practical assessment identifies the will, relatives, debts, properties, non-probate transfers, and what the family must accomplish. Attorney services are determined after review of the specific matter.
